Lockwood Immersive Blog: February 2026
Hello, dear readers! Did you enjoy our last (and first) blog post? We sure did! In fact, we enjoyed it so much that we’ve decided to write a second one, covering all things Lockwood in February 2026.
Updates
On the escape room front, we’ve certainly been busy - painting, arranging, testing, and revising in the space every single week! In particular the game lobby is starting to come together nicely - here’s a little sneak peek!

Sitting area in progress. Jesse is captivated by a pair of owl-shaped bookends he found.
Some of our scavenging is starting to pay off, like in this cozy little seating corner with some fun vintage touches. None of this stuff was bought new; we’ve been haunting thrift stores, estate sales, and stealing stuff out of our friends’ apartments (kidding!) to flesh out this funky, whimsical environment.
In March, we’ll be focusing on the check-in area, as well a solution for players to store their stuff - and adding in a ton more decor, of course!
We also spent some time in February running a murder mystery party experience for a private client! The final game featured a cast of eight characters, custom graphics and hand-built pieces of evidence. Party guests were able to freely roam to inspect the evidence and interrogate the characters, uncovering layers of intrigue and deception. But in the end, the killer was caught and brought to justice: in this case, a one-way ticket to the Underworld!

Extracurriculars
This month has served up some nasty weather: slush, snow, and freezing rain seem to bombard the city constantly. Nonetheless, we donned our boots and braced a nasty midday storm to head to Storm Crow Manor, a city institution and redoubt for geeks of all stripes.
We were there to meet our friends Kevin and Catherine, the minds behind Melodic Escape, where they make escape games themed around (what else) music! We played over preview copies of Siren’s Melody, a boxed escape game about to go live on Kickstarter, and chatted with them about the process of bringing the game to life.
It was lovely to spend a snowy afternoon talking shop over some snacks. These two are really passionate about their work, and that certainly shows in the final project, so be sure to take a look at their Kickstarter once it’s live!

Recommendations
Lastly, here’s a corner where Jesse and Bryan can recommend games, movies, music, or anything else they think deserves a look!
This month, Jesse recommends TR-49: Inkle’s latest offering is as tightly-paced and atmospheric as the rest of the studio’s oeuvre - for those who like reading (and reading between the lines) and being tested on their comprehension, this short game is a wonderful exercise. Play as Abbi, a woman who finds herself exploring the contents of a mysterious machine, tracking down secrets hidden across oblique references and buried in archival issues of nonexistent publications. If you like database-type stuff (e.g. Her Story), you’ll enjoy plumbing its depths.
Bryan recommends ReStory: Chill Electronic Repairs: Okay well you can’t exactly play this game because it’s not out yet, but you can playtest it on steam! I stumbled across this cozy game and the overall vibe is a deep hook for me. You play as a new electronics repair store owner in 2000s Japan. You pick up orders from customers (or the early web) to clean or replace their busted electronics with powerwash-sim-adjacent mechanics, then pack it away and make some Yen. I was pleasantly surprised by the tech you repair in game as the models are pretty faithful to their real-life counterparts. I finally got a chance to see the guts of familiar devices like a MOTOROLA RAZR or PLAYSTATION ONE. This is a great lo-fi lo-stress game which I’m going to keep my eyes on. Recommended to play in a clean, dust-free environment.
